It's a Manic Tuesday for me because I didn't go to work yesterday. The virus took hold of me really badly. I caught my royal "bleep" to sleep Sunday night because it didn't matter if I breathe through my nose or my mouth, the results were the same, I felt like a dragon breathing in fire instead of breathing out fire. My whole nasal passage and throat was like a dry sponge that no liquid could drench. What made matters a little worse on Monday morning was the hacking cough that gripped me and wouldn't let go. Thankfully the cough isn't as frequent anymore. So I stayed home.
I ended up finally finishing The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - Extended Edition. An additional 50 minutes of new and extended scenes. I got it for Christmas from one of my best friends who is presently studying in the States. I was so excited when I got it because it had a miniature sculpture of Minas Tirith. I haven't even started on the last two discs with all the commentary or the special DVD on Howard Shore and the making of the Lord of the Rings Score. That would be because of this wretched flu, I hope to look at those this weekend, emphasis on hope lol. But I took advantage of being home and not being able to sleep because I can't bloody breathe and watched it. It was amazing. When it was done, I was sad all over again because I forgot how much I miss those characters but happy because the additional scenes really did fit. It wasn't just filler. It explained the smile that Eowyn and Faramir shared at the coronation in the end (for those who didn't read the book i.e.). It also showed a little more about Denethor so unlike the original version, it didn't look like he all-of-a-sudden went mad. Plus most importantly there were the deleted scenes of Saruman and so much more. All in all it was an excellent movie all over again.
The funniest part of yesterday (well funny to me) was all the different voices that I had yesterday. I asked Bel about that, what makes you sound like you have a frog in your throat. Bel is the High Priest of Trivial Information so he would be the person you would ask all the things you wanted to know but never really bothered to find out. He told me that my voice was sounding like that because my vocal chords and generally my throat was swollen. But seriously it was very funny. One minute I'm almost sounding like myself, the next I'm sounding like Barry White with a cold. LOL.
It is much better now though. I woke up this morning and my head was CLEAR!! My nose is still stuffed up but I can breathe out of it without having to think about it. YEEEEHHAAA!! Very happy about that. I'm a little sleepy but nothing to complain about but I don't care because I'm BETTER!! However, my body had to remind me that even though I feel like I'm 100% I still have to take it easy. I just walked up and down the stairs once and I ended up wheezing. Sigh. But forget all that. I'm Well!!! Wohoo!!
:D
